Despite cal's best efforts the Pre WWII Cinema:Silent Screams and Terror Talkies. What was putting the fear up the flappers? section didn't take off so it's gone, posts recycled into the General section until such times as things * um* pick up. 
The Site has moved from batcave to http://gruesomecargoes.wordpress.com/ where it's getting a respectable amount of hits (it always did, funnily enough, but response was another matter).
And, yes, I'm still sticking with it !

From the first, I set myself against "literature"; the story was the thing, and no amount of style could persuade me to select a story that lacked genuine, unadulterated horror. For those who wanted something high-brow there was plenty.
