From the first, I set myself against "literature"; the story was the thing, and no amount of style could persuade me to select a story that lacked genuine, unadulterated horror. For those who wanted something high-brow there was plenty.

Do you know of any?

I suppose it's just my memory but I don't recall ever seeing this magazine or this thread. I'd certainly pick them up if I saw them now! The format looks very like Magazine of Horror.

I was saving a few of these covers to disk this morning. And Bertin's name came up again on one of the Pan threads. I think I read that he's quite highly regarded over the Channel.
